Nicey Jane Quilt - Finished for Bloggers Quilt Festival

I finally finished my Nicey Jane queen size quilt this evening.  I had to hurry up so I could enter it in the fall Blogger's Quilt Festival.  It's been over a 2 year process.  The quilt measures 96" x 102", it's giant.  I had it professionally quilted by Priscilla Jane.  Priscilla is local to western PA, but she does not have a website.  She did an awesome job.  She let me pick a pantograph design online and then I just let her know which one and she ordered it and quilted it.  The pattern that I used for the front of this quilt is Cherry House Quilts "The Sand Pebbles".  I loved the pattern because it looked so random.

Here is the back of my quilt.  I used all Heather Bailey Nicey Jane prints on the back.  I fell in love with the Nicey Jane prints years ago and started stashing them.   I just love how they all flow together.

Here's a close up of the awesome quilting Priscilla did on this quilt.  As soon as I get a chance to wash and dry it, it's new home will be on our bed.

Paper Pieced Star

I know it's been forever since my last post.  I just fell away from blogging for awhile.  Over the weekend I put together this star and decided it was time to blog again.  I created my own diamond template, then followed Kati's directions at From The Blue Chair.  This is going to be a wall hanging as soon as I get it quilted.  It measures 25" x 25".  I'm really happy with how it turned out.  Kati's step by step directions on putting it together were terrific.

Teacher Gifts

Today was Troy's last day of 1st grade.  His teacher's have been so great this year helping him to have a terrific 1st grade year.  I wanted to make something nice for them so I put together these personalized quilted tote bags.  I really like how they turned out.  Troy helped me pick out the colors that he thought his teacher's would like.  He was actually kind of sad today, he likes school so much he wasn't looking forward to the end of 1st grade.

Hex N More Triangles and Hexagons

I tried out the Hex N More ruler and made the Candy Dish pillow.  We are carrying the ruler and several patterns in the Viking Sewing Gallery now.

I decided to make a beach quilt because we are planning a trip to Myrtle Beach this July.  Here's what I have so far.  Again I'm using the Hex N More ruler to make these triangles.

This ruler is pretty cool and easy to use.  I am loving triangles and hexagons.

Bibs for Newborns in Need

Over the past couple of weeks I've been working on some bibs for Newborns in Need.  I volunteer with NIN once a month and we put together layette packages for families with newborns in need.  We always seem to be short on bibs, so I was having fun embroidering these cute designs.  I love the little robots.  Troy is really into robots lately so I have several designs.

The little lambs should be nice gifts for Easter.

My 2013 Calendar and a finish from 2012

Here's my cute 2013 calendar that I found back in October at Quilting by the Yard in Vernon, CT.  I had to travel to Hartford, CT for training for work, and we had an extra day to hit some quilt shops.  It was great fun.

And here is my sock monkey quilt that I made for my cousin's little boy Charlie.  It's a twin size quilt, I was planning on having it ready for his birthday in September, but didn't quite get it completed.  So I saved it for Christmas.

I made a stripey back and embroidered a label. I quilted it using horizontal straight lines.
